Dr. Kanika Singh is a Geneticist in Gurgaon who specializes in seeing disorders which may have a genetic basis such as metabolic disorders, developmental delay, autism, severe short stature, neuromuscular disorders, family history of cancer, cardiac problems or early onset diabetes, antenatal counselling, fetal anomalies, recurrent pregnancy loss and infertility. She has in-depth knowledge of analysis and interpretation of genetic testing, exome sequencing and chromosomal microarray.
She has trained and worked in top medical colleges and hospitals in Delhi. She has done her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College and MD in Paediatrics from UCMS and Guru Teg Bahadur hospital of Delhi University. After doing Senior Residency in Paediatrics for sometime, she moved on to do DNB Superspeciality training at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Medical Genetics.
After completing, her Medical Genetics training, she spent some time in United Kingdom, where she had a learning attachment with Willink Biochemical and Metabolic unit at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester. She also visited some of the Cancer Genetic clinics in Leicester and Oxford.
Post super specialization, she has worked at the Division of Genetics in AIIMS and Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. She was involved in managing the Genetic clinics and OPD’s, Registry of patients with Rare diseases with Government of India, Newborn screening program under Delhi Government, treating children with metabolic disorders, work related to COVID genome sequencing and its surveillance in Delhi, Thalassemia screening camps in Delhi colleges.
